Hope Avenue Twin Cities is now live as we lease space at 1229 Logan Avenue North, Minneapolis, and plant a men’s shelter on December 1. God is placing us “smack in the middle of” a troubled community and our privilege is to shine for the Lord! We will offer nightly shelter, homemade meals, showers, Bible studies and addiction recovery, safety in housing and recovery resources, worship, friendship and the love of Christ. This is a Christ-centered shelter for which we will not receive any federal or government support. We are trusting the Lord to meet our financial needs of $300,000 through the generosity of His people. We are delighted to say that we have raised $45,000 to date. Thank you, Jesus!
We have 15 years of outreach at Elim Church into the community of those experiencing homelessness. However, the Lord has called Hope Avenue Twin Cities to develop and launch a separate 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to provide these additional outreach services daily to the North and NE Minneapolis communities. We have our EIN from the IRS but await our nonprofit status.
Our active vision, and for which we are raising funds, is to provide shelter in affiliation with Citygate Network for men and a mobile van ministry for food and clothing distribution in the local community. Citygate is the rebranding of Union Gospel Mission.
Elim Church is receiving donations for the shelter, enabling you to claim a tax deduction for that financial gift. To read more about us and learn how you can support this work, please visit our Give to the Max page:
